Out here in Ambhetah Sheikhan, things move a lot slower than in the big cities. We are located in the Deoband area of Saharanpur. It’s a rural setting, so you see a lot of green fields when you look out the window. The building itself is quite plain. We spend our mornings checking the mail and talking to the local workers who stop by. Most of the people working here are from the nearby villages. We know each other's families and what’s happening in the neighborhood. Sometimes the internet is slow, which can be a bit of a headache when we have to send reports. We deal with ceramics and tiles, mainly keeping track of what’s going where. It gets very hot in the summer, and the ceiling fans just move the warm air around. We usually bring lunch from home in tiffin boxes. There’s a small porch where we sit during the break to get some fresh air. The dust from the road covers everything if we don't wipe the desks every morning. It's a simple life here. We don't have big meetings or fancy presentations. We just focus on the tasks we have for the day. Sometimes a stray dog wanders into the yard and stays for a while. It’s just how it is. We work, we talk, and we head back to our homes when the sun starts going down.
