Khan Bag House

Our shop is tucked away in Gali No. 10 in the Men Market. It’s a narrow lane near Lebur Chowk, right next to the Saadi Sale place and near the Posta Burra Bazar area. If you know Burra Bazar, you know how hectic it can get with the handcarts and the crowds. Khan Bag House is basically a room filled to the ceiling with bags of all kinds. We have stacks of them everywhere, and sometimes it is hard to even walk through the shop without bumping into a pile. We spend our days counting stock and helping people find the specific sizes they are looking for. It is usually quite loud outside with the vendors shouting and the general noise of the market. We don't have much in the way of decoration; the walls are just covered with shelves. The light from the street doesn't really reach the back, so we have a few old tube lights that we keep on all day. It’s a busy life here in the Gali, and there is always someone coming in to ask about prices or to pick up a bulk order. We drink our tea standing up most of the time because there isn't really a place to sit down with all the bags in the way. It’s just how things are in this part of the market, and we like the energy of it.
