Our place is at 4444 on the Main Road in Pahari Dhiraj. It’s a very old part of the city and the streets are always packed with vendors and shoppers. Sambhav Art is a shop where we focus on various artistic things and traditional items. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside because we try to fit a lot of stock onto the shelves. The walls are covered in different pieces we’ve collected or made over time. It smells like old paper and wood in here, which I personally quite like. We don’t have any fancy lighting or a modern gallery look. It’s more like a storage room that people are allowed to walk through. We spend a lot of time talking to the craftsmen who bring us their work. Some of them have been coming to us for decades. It’s a slow-paced kind of business, even though the street outside is fast and loud. We often sit on small stools near the front door to catch whatever breeze comes in. My family has lived in this area for generations, so we know every corner of Pahari Dhiraj. This shop is just our way of staying connected to the local arts. We don't do much advertising. People just see the sign while they are walking to the market and wander in. It’s a simple life and we enjoy the people we meet every day.
