If you’ve ever been to Pharganj, you know how it is. We are tucked away in Multani Dhanda, specifically in Gali No 14. It’s a narrow lane and sometimes it’s hard to even get a rickshaw through there when the market is full. Our place is old and the stairs are a bit steep and creaky. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. There is always noise coming from the street, vendors shouting and people walking by. We do a lot of importing and exporting, mostly dealing with different goods that come through Delhi. The office is small and usually filled with samples and folders. We don’t have a website that works very well, so most people just call us on the phone or show up at the door. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes, but we know where everything is kept. We drink a lot of tea with the other shop owners nearby. It’s a tight community in these lanes and we look out for each other. We don't try to look like a big corporation because we aren't one. We are just a local family-run business trying to keep up with all the orders coming in. The heat in the summer is tough, but we have a good fan that helps. It’s just life in Pharganj for us. We keep working until the sun goes down and the markets start to quiet down a bit. It’s a busy life but we're used to it.
