You can find Devender Kumar Co at No. 4624 in Deputy Ganj. This is right in the middle of Sadar Bazar. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets. The streets are always packed with carts and people moving stuff around. Our shop has been in this spot for years. It’s a narrow building and we use every inch of it for storage. We deal with various goods. Mostly we are just busy keeping track of everything coming in and going out. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling. I have to use a ladder every time I need something from the top. It’s a bit dusty because of all the traffic outside. We don’t have an office staff or anything. It’s just us and a couple of helpers who have been with us for a long time. We drink a lot of chai during the day to stay awake. The neighbors are all doing the same kind of thing. We talk over the balconies sometimes when things are slow. Sadar Bazar is a tough place to work but we like it here. It’s home to us. We don’t do any marketing. People just find us by word of mouth or they see the number on the door. We work six days a week. Sunday is the only time it’s quiet around here. We just try to keep the business going as best as we can. It's a lot of physical work carrying boxes up and down. My back hurts by evening but that's just part of the job. We have an old calendar on the wall from five years ago. We just like the picture on it.
