Rashtriya Tubes & Fittings

Our shop is at Asaf Ali Road 1/9 B, and if you know this part of the city, you know how hectic it gets. Rashtriya Tubes & Fittings is basically a long, narrow room filled from floor to ceiling with metal parts. We have bins full of elbows, tees, and various fittings that we’ve sorted over the years. Some of the labels on the bins have faded, but we have a good memory for where the odd sizes are kept. The ceiling is high, which helps with the heat, but it’s still a stuffy place when the afternoon sun hits the front glass. We don't spend money on fancy displays. The products are the display. Usually, the floor is a bit dusty from the constant flow of people coming in from the street. We have an old desk where the phone sits, and it rings pretty often with people checking prices or stock levels. It’s a lot of manual counting and checking against the invoices. Sometimes we have to climb up the iron racks to get something from the top, which isn't easy as we get older. We take turns going out for snacks or a cold drink when the weather is really bad. It’s a basic operation at 1/9 B, and we don't try to make it seem like something it isn't. We just provide what's on the list and move on to the next customer waiting in line.
