Ranjit Electricals is right in the heart of the chaos at 1757, Bhagirath Place in Chandni Chowk. If you’ve ever been to this market, you know how crowded and narrow the lanes are. Our shop is small, like most others here, but we’ve managed to fit a lot into that space. We’ve been here for decades, watching the market change while we stay mostly the same. We sell all sorts of electrical goods, mostly to contractors and walk-in customers who need something specific for their house. The walls are lined with boxes of switches, wires, and bulbs. There isn't much room to walk once two or three customers are inside. We don't do any flashy advertising because in Bhagirath Place, your reputation is what keeps you going. Some days the heat in the market is unbearable, and the noise from the rickshaws never stops, but we’re used to it. We don't have a corporate structure; it's just family and a couple of helpers who have been with us since they were kids. We keep a ledger for the regulars and still use a simple calculator for the bills. It’s a traditional way of doing things, but it works for us. We just focus on having the right parts in stock and giving people a fair price without any of the sales talk you find in bigger stores. It's a long day from opening to closing, but we’ve got into a rhythm.
