Rajesh Paints

We’ve been here at Plot No. 1/1/41 on Singh Sabha Road for a while now. Most people know the spot because of the Clock Tower nearby, it’s a big landmark in this part of Shakti Nagar. Being near Subji Mandi means it’s always busy around here, especially in the mornings when the market is in full swing. You can hear the noise from the street all day long while we’re moving cans around. The shop isn’t huge but we make it work. Most days it’s just us handling the stock and talking to whoever walks in. The walls are a bit stained from years of work at Rajesh Paints, but that’s just how it is when you deal with paint every day. We open up pretty early before the heat gets too bad. Sometimes the traffic on the road makes it hard for the delivery trucks to pull up right in front, so we end up carrying stuff a little way down the path. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy buckets and making sure everything is stacked right so it doesn’t tip over. We don't have a fancy office or anything, just a desk in the corner and some shelves that have seen better days. It feels like home though. You get used to the smell of thinners and the sound of the crowds outside. It’s just a regular place where we get the job done and head home when the sun goes down.
