Raja Tile

We are located in Chawri Bazar, right in Gali Lohewali at 3666. If you’ve never been to Old Delhi, it can be a bit of a shock. The lanes are very narrow and there are always people and carts pushing past each other. We’ve had this shop here for a long time. It’s a small space, so we have to stack the tiles high up on the walls. It isn't a modern showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a traditional shop where we pull out pieces for you to look at on the floor. The dust from the street always finds its way inside, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the samples. We don't do any flashy advertising. Most people find us because their family has been buying from us for generations. It’s a loud place to work, with all the shouting and the noise from the market, but you get used to it. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. Sometimes it takes a while to find a specific pattern in the back, but we usually get there. We just take things one day at a time and try to be honest with everyone who walks in. It’s a hard way to work, especially with the heat and the crowds, but it’s what we know. We enjoy being part of the history of this market.
