About Public Works Department – Metals & Minerals in Delhi
Our spot is over in New Modern, Shahdara, specifically at H.No.4649/83-A. It’s a tight neighborhood and being part of the Public Works Department here means we deal with a lot of local street issues. Delhi is always growing and something is always needing a fix. We have a small team and we spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors about the potholes or the street lights. The office isn't anything to look at. It's just a room with some old chairs and a lot of registers. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Usually, someone is sitting there drinking tea and waiting for a report to come in. The streets around here can get pretty crowded, so even a small repair job becomes a big production with the traffic. We try to stay honest about how long things take. Sometimes the bureaucracy is slow and we just have to wait along with everyone else. We aren't corporate people with polished speeches. We are just the folks you see out there with the measuring tapes and the clipboards. It’s a lot of practical, everyday work that mostly goes unnoticed until something goes wrong. We just keep plugging away at the maintenance tasks because that’s the job. It’s steady work and it keeps us connected to the Shahdara community every single day. We are just part of the furniture in this neighborhood now.
