Project Site Incharge

I stay over at the Jothi Nagar Main Road spot in Ekkatuthangal. Being a site incharge in Chennai means you spend a lot of time in the heat. My office is right there at No 2/4. It’s not very big, but it’s where I keep the boots and the hard hats. Every morning involves checking the progress from the day before. Chennai is a busy place, and the traffic near Ekkatuthangal can be a real pain when we are trying to get materials delivered. I’ve been doing this for a bit now. It’s about being on the ground and seeing what’s actually happening. If a wall isn't straight or the supplies haven't arrived, I’m the one who deals with it. I don’t wear a suit to work. Usually, it’s just a plain shirt and trousers that can get dirty. I talk to the laborers and the owners. It’s a lot of middle-man work. People stop by the office to complain or ask for updates. I just try to keep things moving. The 600097 area has seen a lot of change lately. We are right in the middle of it. Sometimes I have to stay late to finish the logs. It's just how it goes. I don't have a big team of assistants. It’s mostly me and the crew on the site. We just do the job and move to the next one. I keep a fan running in the office but it barely helps in the afternoon. People know me as the guy who’s always checking the measurements.
