Prakash Timber Traders is situated in Nangloi, right on Rohtak Road. Our address is Shop No 74/17 in Amar Colony. If you’ve ever driven down Rohtak Road, you know how hectic it can be. We’re right in the thick of it. The shop is full of wood—all kinds of lengths and thicknesses stacked up against the walls. It smells like fresh pine and old sawdust in here most of the time. We spend a lot of our day hauling heavy boards around. It keeps you fit, I suppose. Amar Colony is a decent place to be based, even with all the noise from the main road. We have some guys who help with the loading, and we’re usually all covered in wood shavings by the time lunch rolls around. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people seeing the sign and stopping in. It’s been that way for a long time. The wood comes in on big trucks, and we have to get it unloaded and stacked before it starts to rain or gets too dark. It’s a lot of physical labor, but there’s something nice about working with your hands. We aren't trying to change the world, just selling timber to people who need it for their houses or shops. It’s honest work and it fills the day from sunrise to sunset. We close up when the light fades out.
