People usually find us here at Jharkhandi Road in Shahdara without too much trouble. We are at number 150 in Bholanath Nagar. It’s a busy spot. Most mornings start with unlocking the front shutters and sweeping out the dust that blew in overnight. The street gets loud quite early. We have been in this same spot for a while now. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but that’s not really a priority when there is so much work to get through every day. My desk is covered in papers and some old ledgers that I still prefer over the computer sometimes. We spend a lot of time just talking to folks who walk in or calling up people to check on orders. It is a simple setup. There is a small stool for visitors and a fan that rattles when it’s on high speed. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit by the door where there is more light. We don't have a big fancy office. It’s just us working through the list of things that need doing. Neighbors stop by to say hello or borrow a pen. That is how it goes here. By the time evening rolls around, we are usually just finishing up the last bits of paperwork. Then we lock up and head home like everyone else on this street. It isn't much, but it's our place.
