Pp Rolling Mill Ltd. is based out in Kharikwari, which is a village in the Bulandshahar district. Being out in the U.P. countryside means we deal with a different set of challenges than city folks. The mill is a big part of our lives. Most of the people working here are from the village or the post area nearby. It’s a lot of heavy work and the machines run for long hours. You can hear the hum of the rolling mill from down the road. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s a productive one. We don't have any big signs or flashy advertisements. People around Bulandshahar know where we are if they need us. The road to the village can be a bit rough after the monsoon, so we spend some time fixing up the yard. Inside the office, it’s mostly just files and the smell of grease from the factory floor. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the shifts. The owner is usually around, probably checking on some repair or talking to the drivers. We don’t use any complicated systems, just old-fashioned hard work and keeping an eye on the production. It’s an honest way to make a living. The village is quiet at night once the machines stop, but during the day, it’s all about getting those metal sheets or bars out the door and onto the trucks.
