Working out of No. 4012 on the 2nd Floor in Naya Bazar is something you get used to after a few months. The stairs are a bit steep, especially when we are carrying heavy bundles of fabric or cardboard boxes up from the street level. Naya Bazar is always moving, and you can hear the noise even up here. Pari India is basically just a few rooms filled with stock and some desks where we handle the paperwork. It isn't a fancy place with mirrors or bright lights. We mostly focus on getting the orders ready for whoever comes by. The lighting can be a bit dim in the corners, but we know where everything is kept. Usually, the mornings are spent checking what arrived the day before. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk while waiting for the phone to ring. Other times, it is pure chaos with too many people in one small space. We don’t really have a big sign outside, so people usually have to look for the number 4012 specifically. It gets dusty because of all the construction nearby, so we spend a lot of time dusting off the plastic covers on the clothes. There are a lot of other businesses in this building too, so the hallways stay busy all day. It’s a simple operation we have going here. Nothing too special, just a lot of work and making sure the inventory matches our records.
