Most mornings here in Sadh Nagar-2 start the same way. We open up the shop on Gali No-23A and look at whatever broken electronics were left over from the day before. It’s a busy little corner of Palam Colony, and Balaji Electrotech has been sitting right here at Rz-F-6/24 for quite some time now. You’ll mostly find us surrounded by tangled wires, old circuit boards, and the smell of solder. It’s not a very big space, so things tend to pile up on the workbenches pretty quickly. We spend our hours trying to figure out why a motor won't turn or why a panel keeps tripping the fuse. There’s no fancy air conditioning here, just a couple of wall fans that struggle against the Delhi heat in the summer. People from the neighborhood drop by with their fans, mixers, or whatever else stopped working, and we just take a look. Sometimes the parts we need take a few days to arrive, and the shelves get even more crowded. It’s noisy outside with the traffic and the street vendors, but we’re used to it by now. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity; we’re just a local spot where people bring their electrical headaches. The floor is concrete and usually has some scrap wire sitting in the corner. It’s a simple setup where we focus on the task right in front of us, one job at a time, until the sun goes down. It is just the way we have always done things around here.
