We are located at 2/3 in the DSIDC area, specifically within the Community Works Centre in J-Block. One of the best ways to find us is to look for the Britannia Industries building, because we are right opposite that. On days when they are baking, the whole area smells like biscuits, which is a nice little bonus of working here in Shakurpur. Our space at Optics Technology is filled with various bits of equipment and tools we use for our daily tasks. It’s a functional environment. We have some heavy workbenches and plenty of lighting because we need to see what we are doing with the smaller parts. The DSIDC complex can be quite a maze if you aren't used to it, with all the different units and people moving stuff around. We’ve got our own routine here, starting the machines early and going through the list of things that need finishing. It’s not a corporate office with carpets; it’s more of a workshop where things actually get built or fixed. We have a small corner for files and a kettle for making tea. Most of our day is spent focusing on the technical details of the optics work. It’s steady and sometimes a bit repetitive, but we like the rhythm of it. Being across from a big landmark like Britannia makes it easy to give directions to anyone coming to visit. We just keep our heads down and work.
