New Hindustan Glass Works

New Hindustan Glass Works has been sitting here at Chirag Delhi Main Gate 576/A for more years than I can really count. The shop is usually covered in a thin layer of glass dust that just never goes away no matter how much we sweep. It is a busy spot right by the gate and the traffic noise is something we just got used to over the time. We handle all sorts of glass work like window panes for the old houses around here and sometimes mirrors for the local shops. My hands are full of tiny scars from the edges but that is just part of the job when you work with these sheets every day. We don't have a big fancy office or a receptionist. It is just a workshop with crates of glass leaning against the walls and a heavy cutting table in the middle. Most of the neighbors know us by name and they stop by for a quick chat or a cup of tea while we finish their orders. Sometimes we get big pieces that take three of us to carry carefully through the narrow door. It is honest work and we try to keep things simple. The inventory changes depending on what we can get but clear glass is our main thing. We keep it practical and don't spend money on fancy signs or things like that. Just the glass and the tools we need to cut it right for whoever walks in.
