New Era Industries

This place is a bit different because we are inside the Indralok Apartment complex. Flat 201, specifically. It’s at 35 Amorendra Sarani in Uttarpara. It’s a residential building, so it's relatively quiet compared to a main road shop. We handle the New Era Industries stuff from here. It’s care of D. Kumar, who’s been in the Hooghly area forever. We’ve got a small balcony where we keep some of the supplies tucked away under a tarp. It works for what we need. Most of our neighbors know us, and they don't mind the occasional delivery truck as long as it doesn't block the gate. We spend a lot of time on the phone here. The internet works okay most days. We have a little table set up for lunch. It’s basically a home office that grew a bit too big for one person. Uttarpara is a nice place to work from. Not as frantic as the city center. We keep the paperwork in some old metal trunks. It's not high-tech. We use a printer that jams every ten pages, but we figured out how to fix it with a bit of tapping. People come by and we offer them water. It's just a regular day-to-day operation. No big secrets. We just keep track of the orders and make sure things get sent out to where they need to go. We've been here for several years now and we don't plan on moving.
