Nccl has a small presence up here in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Our address is H.No-Sl-2-105. It’s a different world compared to the big city offices. The air is better, even if the roads can be a bit of a challenge when the weather turns rough. We operate out of this house-based office because it makes sense for us and keeps things simple. It’s not a shiny building with glass windows, just a regular place where we can sit down and get things sorted. Being in Mandi means we have to be a bit more self-reliant. Sometimes things take a little longer to get delivered, but we’re used to it. The team here is small, and we all know each other well. We aren't into big speeches or fancy slogans. We just handle the tasks that come our way every morning. Most days are pretty quiet, which helps us stay focused on the details. We have our tea breaks, talk about the local news, and then get back to the files and phone calls. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't have any interest in sounding corporate. We are just local people working in the hills. If you ever found yourself looking for us, you’d just see a normal house where people happen to be doing a lot of work. It’s a simple life and a simple way of running things, and that’s exactly how we like it.
