Shyam Jute Industries is at No. 1720 in the Pili Kothi area of Naya Bazar. Naya Bazar is always packed with activity, and our spot at 1720 is right in the heart of it. Pili Kothi is a landmark that most people around here know well. It’s an old part of the city, and you can feel it in the narrow lanes and the way the buildings lean into each other. We’ve got a lot of jute moving in and out, so the place usually smells a bit like earth and old fibers. It’s a dusty job, and we are always cleaning up after a shipment. The noise of the market is constant, with carts and laborers moving things all day long. We start early at Shyam Jute Industries because that’s when the market is the most alive.
