You can find us in Chandni Chowk, right across from the old Town Hall in Katra Hardyal. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets with the rickshaws and everyone pushing past each other. Our spot at 740 is right in the middle of that chaos. We deal with sherwanis mostly, so there’s always a lot of heavy fabric and embroidery lying around. The light in the shop isn't the brightest, but we know where every piece is kept. Usually, the morning starts with a hot cup of chai while we wait for the first person to walk in. During wedding season, it gets really hectic and we barely have room to stand. The walls are lined with boxes all the way to the ceiling. It’s an old building, so the floors are a bit uneven and the stairs are narrow. We’ve been here for a long time and the neighborhood hasn't changed much, still loud and full of energy. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we just sit by the door to catch the sunlight. It’s a lived-in kind of place. We don’t have a big sign or anything, people just know we are here. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot, but we like being in the heart of the market. It feels like we are part of the history of the place.
