Antonym Clothing Pvt. Ltd. is based on the third floor over in Naraina Vihar, specifically at E-171. It’s a typical Delhi setup where space is tight and everyone is always busy. We spend most of our time surrounded by fabric samples, thread, and half-finished garments. It’s not a fancy fashion house like you see on TV. There are sewing machines humming in the background and rolls of cloth stacked against the walls. We work on different designs, trying to get the fit right for whoever we’re making clothes for. Some days are loud with the noise of the street coming up through the windows, but we’re used to it. The neighborhood has a lot of businesses like ours, so there’s always someone moving bundles of clothes around. We don't have a big sign out front or anything. You just come up to the third floor and find us there. It’s mostly just a group of us who have been doing this for years. We know how the fabric should feel and how the seams should look. Sometimes things go wrong with a batch and we have to fix it, which is just part of the daily grind. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make decent clothes that people feel okay wearing. It’s a lot of sitting and checking details, but we enjoy the work. We usually stay until the last bundle is packed for the day.
