Our main office is tucked away in Sunrise Appartment over in Nasirpur. It is a very busy part of New Delhi, right in the Palam area. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the files and the surveying equipment we have to store. Usually, the guys are out at the various sites, so the flat stays relatively quiet during the middle of the day. We spend a lot of our time on the phone coordinating with the laborers and the different material yards around the city. Traffic in Delhi is a total nightmare, so getting any supplies delivered usually takes twice as long as you think it will. We just deal with it and move on. We are not some corporate giant with a big glass building and fancy suits. We are just a regular crew trying to get the structures finished on time. Sometimes the power goes out in the building and we have to work by the windows using natural light. It is a lot of checking technical drawings and making sure the city permits are all in order. We have a small, tight team here. Most of us have worked together for a long time. We know who is good at what. Whether it is the plumbing or the structural steel work, we just get on with the task. It is not a glamorous job at all, but we like seeing a building go up from a hole in the ground to something people use. That is how we spend our weeks.
