We are up on the second floor at K-17. It’s a bit of a climb, but once you get up here, it’s a nice enough space to work. Being on the second floor keeps us away from the immediate noise of the street, though you can still hear the distant honking. This is where we do all our craft work. The room is usually filled with bits of string, fabric scraps, and various tools spread across the big worktables. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll likely find us in the middle of a project, probably with messy hands. We spend a lot of time experimenting with different materials to see what works and what doesn't. It’s not always pretty. Sometimes we spend a whole day on something that ends up in the bin. But that’s just part of the process for us. We keep our supplies organized in old boxes and bins that we’ve collected over the years. It’s a practical environment designed for getting things done. We don't really have set hours like a big store might; we’re usually here as long as there is work to do. Occasionally, we’ll take a break and look out the window at the rooftops. It’s a quiet life up here at K-17, just us and whatever we’re making at the moment. It suits us just fine. We don't need much else.
