You can find us at 787 Nai Sarak, right in the heart of Chandni Chowk. Anyone who has been to this part of Delhi knows how crowded it gets. We are M/s. Sant Lal Gupta- House Of Blazers and we’ve seen the streets change a lot over the years. The shop is narrow and deep, filled with racks of blazers and coats. We have mirrors that have been on the walls for decades. When someone comes in, they usually have to squeeze past the stacks of fabric. We spend most of our time measuring people and showing different styles. It’s dusty outside but we try to keep the clothes clean and covered. Sometimes the electricity flickers when the whole market is using their air conditioners. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the sizes by just looking at a person. The tea here is always good and we usually share a cup with the neighbors. People come to Nai Sarak for weddings and big events, so we get very busy during the winter months. It’s a lot of talking to customers and making sure the fit is right. We don’t do fancy marketing, our name is just painted on the board outside. It’s a family-run kind of thing and we’ve been at this spot for as long as I can remember. The street is always loud with rickshaws and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the suits.
