Mittal Lace Company

Our place is right on the main road over in Subhash Mohalla. If you know Gandhi Nagar, you know how busy it gets near Lal Batti Chowk. It’s always crowded and loud outside. Mittal Lace Company has been in this spot at IX/5910 for a good while. Inside, it’s a lot of boxes and rolls of lace everywhere. It isn't the most organized looking shop, but we know where everything is kept. We spend most of our mornings unloading new stock or helping customers who squeeze through the door. The space is tight. Sometimes we have to move three things just to get to one. That is just how it goes here. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone sitting at a front desk. It's usually just us handling the counter and the back. People come here for all kinds of trims and laces. Some are regulars from the local garment shops, others are just passing through the market. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break. It's a lot of manual work, lifting and counting. We don’t talk much about goals or visions. We just open the shutters in the morning and stay until the work is finished at night. It’s a practical way to live. The traffic outside never seems to stop, but inside we just keep on with the lace business. We’ve been here so long the noise doesn't even bother us.
