Mehta Electronics Devices is tucked away in Lajpat Rai Market in Delhi. If you’ve ever been to No. 463, you know how crowded and lively this market can be. It is one of the oldest and biggest electronics hubs in the country, and we have been right in the thick of it for a long time. The lanes are narrow and there are people everywhere carrying boxes or looking for specific parts. Our shop is small, like most in the market, but it is packed with every kind of device and component you can think of. We spend our days digging through bins and helping people find exactly what they need for their projects. The air is always full of the sound of people bargaining and the rickshaws passing by outside. It’s a gritty, real place to work, far away from the polished glass buildings of the new city. We don’t use fancy inventory systems; we mostly know where everything is just by looking at the shelves we’ve organized over the years. It’s a lot of manual work, moving stock around and keeping track of what’s coming in from the suppliers. We stay open until late because the market never really seems to sleep. It’s just how things are done here in old Delhi, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who walk through our door.
