Jyoti Hosiery is over in North Ghonda. The full address is A-125, House No. 150/3, on Street No. 4. It’s a residential area, so we are right in the middle of the neighborhood houses. I’ve lived in North Ghonda my whole life. The shop is basically part of the house, which makes the commute very easy. We have machines running during the day, making socks and other hosiery items. It’s a constant humming sound that you get used to after a while. My wife helps with the packing and checking for holes, and sometimes my son helps move the heavy boxes to the street for the rickshaws to pick up. We don't have a showroom with mannequins or bright lights. If you come here, you just see stacks of finished goods in plastic bags and balls of yarn everywhere. It’s a bit cramped, and we have to move chairs around just to walk through the room to the kitchen. We don't have a website or fancy catalogs to show people. Mostly people just know us from the street or through other shopkeepers in the market. It’s a simple life for us. We work, we eat, and we rest when we can. Sometimes the machines break down and I have to spend the whole night fixing them with a wrench. That’s just part of it. We aren't some big factory, just a family doing hosiery in a small street.
