Marshall Wallpaper Company

We have a small shop on the ground floor at 17 Rampuri in Kalka Ji, New Delhi. Marshall Wallpaper Company has been here for a while now. If you walk inside, you’ll see rolls of wallpaper everywhere. We don’t have a lot of space, so we have to stack things up high. It’s a bit of a challenge to find specific patterns sometimes, but we usually know where everything is hidden. Customers come in and sit on the small stools to look through our sample books. It can take them a long time to decide, and we just let them be. Delhi gets really hot in the summer, and our little shop can feel quite stuffy even with the fan going full blast. We don't have any fancy displays or expensive lighting. It’s just a regular shop where we sell wallpaper. Sometimes we go out to help people measure their walls, but mostly we are just here in the shop. We’ve known the other shopkeepers in the Rampuri area for years. We often share tea and talk about the neighborhood. We aren't a big chain or anything like that. It’s just a local business. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most of our customers come because they live nearby or someone they know bought wallpaper from us before. It’s a simple way of doing things, and it works for us here in the busy streets of Kalka Ji.
