Madan Fashion Sarees

You can find us at 4259, tucked away in Gali Bharoen Waali in the Jodgiwara area. Being in Nai Sarak, right in the heart of Chandni Chowk, means it's always crowded and noisy. We deal mostly in sarees. The lanes around here are so narrow that two people can barely pass each other, but that’s just how Old Delhi is. Our shop is filled with different kinds of sarees, from simple ones to more colorful ones for special days. We’ve spent years in this little spot. The walls are a bit stained from the monsoon rains, and the floor is worn down from all the feet walking over it. We don't have a big fancy storefront. People come here because they know we’ve been around. Sometimes we sit on the floor to show the sarees to customers, which is the traditional way. It can get very hot in the summer, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. We get all kinds of people coming through, from locals to those who traveled from far away to shop in the market. Every morning we start by dusting the shelves and making sure the displays look decent. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We enjoy the chaos of the market and the rhythm of the daily sales. There's always someone looking for a specific color we just ran out of, which is typical.
