Lucky Footwear Industries

Down in the Naraina Industrial Area, Phase-1, you will find Lucky Footwear Industries at A-86. This isn't a retail shop; it is a factory where we actually put the shoes together. The air always has that heavy smell of rubber and industrial glue, and you can hear the machines clattering from the street. We have been working out of this spot in New Delhi for a long time now. The building is showing its age, with grey concrete walls and heavy metal doors that are hard to pull shut. We have a crew of guys who have been with us for years, and everyone knows their spot on the line. It's difficult work, especially when the summer heat hits and the tin roof makes the factory feel like a furnace. We don't have any air conditioning or fancy offices. We just focus on getting the daily production done and out the door. There are piles of soles and scraps of leather in every corner of the room. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time getting down the narrow lane to A-86, which usually causes a bit of a shouting match with the other businesses. We don't worry about looking polished or professional. We are just a small industrial unit doing our work in the middle of a loud city. It is dusty and tiring, but it's what we know how to do. Most of our days start before the sun is even up and end late.
