Our office is on the second floor of E-39-B in Lajpat Nagar 2. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how crowded the streets get with shoppers and rickshaws. Thakral Export Pvt. Ltd. operates from this busy little corner. We have to carry boxes up and down those narrow stairs quite often, which is a real workout. The space inside is mostly filled with samples and packing materials. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a place where we manage the logistics and talk to the people who make the goods. The noise from the market downstairs travels up even when the windows are shut. We spend our days checking quality and making sure the labels are put on correctly. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it has to be done right. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just have to sit and wait for the generator to kick in. It gets pretty hot in the summer on the second floor, so we have a couple of noisy coolers running. We aren't a huge corporation with thousands of employees. It is just a small team of us trying to get the orders shipped on time. We’ve been in Lajpat Nagar for a long time, and we like being in the middle of all the action, even if it is a bit chaotic most of the time.
