Out in Lakshmi Nagar, near Vishwakarma Park, you’ll find our unit at 62-A. Kumar Industries has been around for quite a bit now, and we are usually surrounded by the sound of machines and the smell of metal. It’s an industrial area, so nobody expects things to be clean or quiet. We spend our days on the floor making sure the production is moving and that the machines aren't acting up again. It’s a lot of greasy hands and heavy work boots. We have a small team of guys who have been with us for years, and we all just get on with the job. The office is just a small corner with a desk that’s always covered in blueprints and scrap paper. We get a lot of dust from the park across the way, so everything has a thin layer of gray on it no matter how much we sweep. It’s a tough business because there is always something that needs fixing or a part that didn't come out right. We don't have a showroom for people to visit; it’s just a place where work gets done. Lakshmi Nagar is always crowded, so getting our finished goods out on the trucks is the hardest part of the day. We just keep our heads down and try to meet our deadlines without too much fuss. It is a simple life of hard work and staying busy until the lights go off at night.
