J. K. Jewellers

J. K. Jewellers has been at B 4/1 Krishna Nagar for quite some time now. It’s a small place, but it serves us well. Krishna Nagar is always full of life, and our shop is right in the middle of it. We spend our days looking at tiny things through those magnifying loops. It can be hard on the eyes after a few hours. We carry the usual stuff you’d expect like gold, silver, and some stones. People around here know us by name, which is nice. It’s not a fancy corporate jewelry chain. It’s just us. We do a lot of cleaning and polishing for people who bring in their old pieces they found in a drawer. The shop floor is small, so it gets crowded if more than three people walk in at once. We’ve got the old wooden counters and the same safe we’ve used forever. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Usually, someone’s mother or aunt tells them to come see us because they've been here before. That’s how we’ve kept going. Sometimes the power goes out in the summer and we have to sit there with flashlights, but that’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We take pride in the fact that we've stayed in one spot for so long. It’s a decent life, working with pretty things and talking to the neighbors every day. We just take things one day at a time here and hope for the best.
