Our place is located at No. 1799- A in Katra Bansi Dhar, which is right in the middle of Khari Bowli and Naya Bazar. If you know this area, you know how packed and busy the streets are every single day. Krishna Jute Bags Company has been operating out of this spot for a good while. Jute is a rough material to work with, so the shop always smells a bit like earth and old rope. We have bags stacked up to the ceiling in some corners. It’s a bit of a maze inside sometimes when we get a fresh delivery. We spend the day taking orders and moving heavy bundles around. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush carpets or air conditioning that works perfectly. It’s a traditional market space. We talk to a lot of delivery drivers and other shopkeepers throughout the day. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a quick break. We handle a lot of bulk stuff, so there is always a lot of heavy lifting to do. It’s a loud, crowded part of the city, but it’s where we belong. We just keep track of the inventory as best as we can in the old notebooks we keep on the main desk. It’s a straightforward business and we don't try to make it seem like anything else. We are just here doing our jobs.
