Up on the seventh floor of the Surya Kiran Building at 19 Kasturba Gabdhi Marg, you’ll find us. Usha Breco Ltd. has been in this office for quite some time now. Being in New Delhi means it’s always hectic outside on the streets, but once you get up to 701, it’s a bit quieter. The windows look out over the city, though they’re usually a bit dusty from the traffic below. We have a few desks pushed together and some filing cabinets that have seen better days. It’s not one of those modern offices with bean bags or fancy coffee machines. We just have a kettle and some tea bags in the corner. Most of our work involves a lot of phone calls and looking at maps and technical drawings spread out on the table. The lift in this building is old and sometimes it takes a while to arrive, so we usually just wait and chat with the neighbors. We aren't much for big corporate talk. We just focus on the projects we have in front of us. It’s a small team in this office, and we’ve all been together through some busy years. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles during the peak of summer, but we make do with some extra fans. It’s an honest place to work right in the middle of the city. We just keep our heads down and get the job done.
