If you find your way to Karol Bagh, we are over in Mata Rameshwari Nehru Nagar. The shop number is 7053/6. It’s a bit of a maze back there with all the narrow alleys and people selling everything under the sun. Shiv Footwear isn't a big showroom. We have shelves from the floor all the way to the top, packed with boxes. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right pair when someone asks. The floor is just simple tile and it gets worn down from all the walking. We have a couple of mirrors propped up against the wall so people can see how the shoes look. Karol Bagh is always loud, even in the evenings. We keep the door open to get some air, but that means the noise comes right in. There’s a lot of talk about the weather and the local news while we work. We don't use any fancy systems to track what we have. It’s mostly just memory and some notes on a pad. The chairs for customers are a bit old but they are comfortable enough. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood run past and trip over the display. It’s a lively spot to be in. We just focus on selling shoes that last a while. Nothing more to it than that, really. It’s just us here every day doing our thing in the market.
