Arora Handloom

You can find us over at Shop No. 128, which is right across from Ajmal Khan Park in Karol Bagh. It’s actually a nice spot because the park gives us a bit of a view when we step outside for a break. We’re also near Tibbia College, so there are always students walking past our doors throughout the day. The shop itself is filled with different handloom items, mostly stacked on wooden shelves that have seen better days. We try to keep everything sorted, but things get messy quickly when we’re busy. It gets quite dusty being so close to the main road, so there’s a lot of cleaning to do every single morning before we can actually open up. We’ve been in this part of Karol Bagh for a long time, and we’ve seen shops around us change hands many times. Our place stays pretty much the same, though. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it keeps the place cool enough in the Delhi summer. We spend most of our time showing people the different weaves and fabrics we have in stock. It’s a simple way to spend the day. Sometimes the traffic on the road gets so loud you can’t hear yourself think, but you get used to the city sounds eventually. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks as they come. It is just the way we like to run things here.
