K. G. N. Nazra Lehenga Collection

Our shop, K. G. N. Nazra Lehenga Collection, is tucked away at 872-73 Gali Jute Wali in Nai Sarak. If you know this part of the city, you know how crowded and busy the lanes get. We have been here for a good while now. The space is mostly filled with rolls of fabric and half-finished lehengas. It’s not a big, shiny showroom with air conditioning that works all the time. My cousins and I are here from morning until late evening. We handle a lot of wedding wear, and the floor is often covered in loose threads and sequins. People come to us because they know where to find us in Nai Sarak. We don't do much advertising or have a fancy website. The building is old and the stairs are a bit steep. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when we have several customers at once. We just focus on getting the embroidery right and making sure the fitting is what people asked for. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We sit on the floor cushions most of the day while we work. The tea man comes by twice a day, and that’s when we take a small break. It is just a regular shop doing its thing in the middle of a very busy market. We like the buzz of the street outside and the sounds of the vendors nearby.
