K. D. Embroidery

K. D. Embroidery is over in Okhla Industrial Area, specifically Phase-2. Our unit is W-15. It’s a big block with a lot of other businesses. We have several embroidery machines lined up inside. They make a lot of clicking sounds all day long. The floor is usually covered in little bits of thread. We have a few people who work the machines and someone to check for mistakes. It’s a bit cramped inside because the machines take up so much space. We moved to W-15 a few years back. The rent in Okhla Phase-2 is high but it’s a good spot for this kind of work. We don't do anything else, just embroidery on different fabrics. People bring us their designs and we set it up. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves. It's just part of the job. There’s a small area where we keep the thread spools. There are so many colors it’s hard to keep track. We just try to stay busy. K. D. Embroidery isn't a huge name, but we have our regular work. If you're looking for us, look for the W block. It's near the main road but a bit tucked away. We eat our lunch together at the back. It's a simple life. We just do the embroidery and go home when the sun goes down.
