We’ve been sitting here at Ci/71 in Bapa Nagar for quite some time now. New Delhi is always noisy, and this part of town is no different. We started Joher Housing & Construction Co. because we knew how to build things and people needed houses. It’s not a big fancy corporate setup with glass walls. Mostly, our days are spent looking at blueprints that have tea stains on them or talking to contractors who are running late. The heat in the summer makes the site work pretty tough, but we just get through it. Sometimes the neighbors come by to complain about the dust, and we try to keep it down, but construction is messy. That’s just the truth of it. We use regular bricks and cement and try to make sure the walls are straight. It’s hard work and your hands get rough. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to put up solid buildings that don't fall apart when the rain hits hard in July. Our office is small and tucked away. If you walk past the main market, you’ll find us easily enough. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, some tools, and a lot of grit. We keep it simple because that’s what we know how to do. Bapa Nagar isn't the fanciest address in Delhi, but it’s where we’ve made our start and where we plan to stay. There is always something to fix or a truck to wait for. It keeps us on our toes every single day.
