We operate out of Munirka, which is a very busy area near JNU in New Delhi. Our office is actually just a room in a house on the main street. It’s a bit cramped with all the files and the two desks we have squeezed in there. Being in Munirka means there are students and workers everywhere, and the noise never really stops. We handle various projects and the paperwork usually takes up most of our day. It’s not a big company headquarters, just a practical spot where we get things done. Surender Singh Tokas is a well-known name in this neighborhood, so people find us easily enough. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it's quiet enough to hear the traffic outside. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a reception area. If someone comes by, they just pull up a plastic chair. Most of our coordination happens over the mobile phone while we navigate the narrow stairs of the building. We’ve been in this spot for a while and it suits us because everything we need is close by. It’s a simple operation, really. We focus on managing our tasks and making sure the documents are filed correctly. It gets a bit dusty with the construction nearby, but we just keep the door shut and carry on with our work. It is just the three of us here most days, trying to keep up with the demands and the endless piles of records.
