Our shop is located at No. 5691 along Nai Sarak in Chandhi Chowk. If you know this area, you know how crowded and busy it gets every single day. We have been sitting in this same spot for a long time, surrounded by other cloth shops and the constant noise of the market. It’s a small space, piled high with sarees from floor to ceiling. Most days, we are busy folding and unfolding fabrics for people who walk in from the street. Nai Sarak is famous for books, but we have our little corner for sarees here. It gets very hot in the summer, but we keep the fans going and just get on with the work. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here. Sometimes the lanes are so packed you can barely walk, but that is just how Chandhi Chowk is. We deal with all kinds of people, from those looking for something simple to those wanting something for a wedding. It is a lot of heavy lifting with the bundles of cloth arriving every week. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. There are tea stalls nearby that keep us going. It’s a simple business, nothing fancy about the interiors, just lots of shelves and old counters. We’ve seen the street change a lot over the years, but our shop stays much the same.
