J. Brothers

You can find J. Brothers right at 100 Tilak Bazar Chowk. This is a very old part of the city, and the chowk is always full of energy. It’s a bit of a maze getting through the narrow streets sometimes, especially if there are carts or trucks blocking the way. Our shop and office have been here for quite some time now. It’s a traditional building, nothing like the glass towers you see in the new parts of town. Inside, it’s a bit crowded with stock and old wooden desks. We like it that way, though. It feels like a real place where actual work happens. We don't have air conditioning that works all the time, so we rely on the ceiling fans and the breeze when we can get it. Most of the day is spent talking to people who walk in or handling phone calls from long-time customers. We don't use any fancy systems to track things, just good old-fashioned ledgers and a lot of memory. It’s a family-style environment where everyone chips in. The noise from the market outside is constant, but you stop noticing it after an hour or two. We are just a local business trying to do things the right way. It’s not complicated, just a lot of hard work and staying late to finish up the day's books before we lock up the heavy metal shutters.
