India Book Mart

India Book Mart is situated at Plot No. C-240 on the first floor in Pandav Nagar. We are at number 108, and it takes a little bit of climbing the stairs to get to us. The whole floor is basically dedicated to books. We have rows and rows of shelves, and honestly, sometimes it is hard to walk through the aisles because of the boxes on the floor. We deal with a lot of shipping, so there is always tape and bubble wrap lying around. It is not a bookstore where you come to browse in a comfortable chair. It is more of a hub where we process orders and send them out. The air smells like old paper and cardboard, which is something you get used to after a while. We spend our days checking invoices and making sure the right books go to the right people. Sometimes we get the addresses wrong or a book arrives damaged, and we have to fix those mistakes. It is a human process and we are not perfect. We have a few windows that look out over the street, but we are usually too busy to look out of them much. It is a bit of a chaotic place when a big shipment comes in, but we have our own way of organizing the mess. It is a steady job for us.
