If you’re looking for Inch By Inch, you have to head up to the second floor at Dp-229. Pitampura is always crowded, so finding a parking spot near the building is the first challenge. Once you get upstairs, it’s a bit quieter. We have rolls of fabric and measuring tapes scattered all over. The light in the afternoon is quite good for seeing the colors properly. We’ve been in this spot for a bit, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the sewing machines to worry about that. Some days the floor is covered in small scraps of cloth and thread that the broom misses. It’s just how it goes when you’re working with textiles all day. We have a couple of old chairs for people to sit on while we talk about what they want done. It’s not a big fancy boutique with mirrors everywhere. It’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. The noise from the street downstairs stays down there mostly, which is nice. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and trying to get the measurements exactly right. Sometimes a customer brings in a photo from a magazine and we have to figure out how to make it work with the material they brought. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on the small details that most people don't even notice.
