Hindustan Tiles

Hindustan Tiles is located right in the middle of Janak Puri in New Delhi. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how many shops there are and how crowded the footpaths get. Our shop is just one of many, but we’ve got our own way of doing things. We have stacks of tiles everywhere—ceramic, marble, you name it. It makes the floor space a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step when you walk in. The air usually has a bit of fine dust from the tiles being moved around. We don't have a fancy showroom with spotlights. We just show people the actual slabs and pieces we have in stock. The staff is usually busy lifting heavy crates or helping someone load a rickshaw out front. It’s physically hard work and we all go home with sore backs most days. Janak Puri is a loud place, and our shop is no different. Between the traffic outside and the sound of tiles clinking together, it’s never quiet. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the bills and the register, but most of the time we are on our feet. It's a simple business. We buy tiles, we store them, and we sell them to people building or fixing their homes. We don't use big words or try to act like a giant corporation. We are just a local Delhi shop trying to sell good tiles and stay in business. The tea here is always hot and strong.
