Hindustan Elevator & Escalators

Our place is in Dwarka, at 211/11. Dwarka is a big area with so many apartment blocks and malls, so there is always plenty of work for us. Dealing with elevators and escalators is a serious business. You spend a lot of time in small spaces or looking down shafts, so you get used to the dark and the dust. Our office is more like a storage room for gears and specialized tools than a proper place of business. There are stacks of manuals and spare parts everywhere. We do not have any fancy receptionists or a lobby. Most of the time, the phone is ringing with someone who needs a repair right away. We spend our days driving from one block to another, carrying our gear and making sure the lifts are moving correctly. It is a lot of climbing stairs and working in hot machine rooms. We take pride in just getting the job done without making a big fuss about it. The people who work here are mostly mechanics who have been around machinery their whole lives. We talk shop over quick cups of tea at the local stalls between calls. It is a busy life but it is what we do. We are just a local team trying to keep the elevators in this part of the city working like they should. It is basic, honest work and we have been at it for a long time. There is not much more to it than that.
