Okhla Phase 2 is a busy place, and our spot at C56/2 is right in the thick of it. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how it is—trucks backing up, people moving crates, and that constant hum of machinery everywhere you turn. Our building isn't new, and the stairs are a little narrow, but it gets the job done for what we need. We spend a lot of time checking the stitches on the fabric, making sure things aren't bunching up. It’s a bit dusty because of the industrial area, so we are always wiping down the tables. Lunch is usually something brought from home, eaten quickly while we talk about whatever is on the news. The fans overhead do their best in the summer heat, though it still gets pretty warm by three in the afternoon. We’ve been at this address for a while now, and we know the quirks of the plumbing and which light switches you have to flip twice. It’s just how it goes here. Most of the time, the floor is covered in scraps of thread and small pieces of cloth that we have to sweep up before we lock up for the night. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like the routine of it and the people we work with every day.
